2.9 ASUS PIKE card (Optional)
The PIKE slot allows you to choose and change your preferred SAS solution easily. Install an
optional ASUS PIKE RAID card based on your needs.
• Ensure that the system is turned off before removing any components.
• Discharge static electricity by touching any metal surface.
Refer to section
4.3 Internal Connectors
for the PIKE SAS/SATA connector location.
To install a PIKE card:
1. Release the screw on the motherboard
adjacent to the PIKE card slot.
Set aside the screw for later use.
2. Align and insert the PIKE RAID card into
the PIKE RAID card slot.
Ensure that the PIKE RAID card is
completely seated on the card slot.
• The PIKE RAID card ts to the
PIKE RAID card slot in one
orientation only.
• Ensure that the metal clip on
the PIKE card is rmly clamped
in the motherboard’s PIKE card
slot.
3. Secure the PIKE RAID card to the
motherboard using the screw that you
removed in Step 1.
